About Yarramundi Prime Lamb

The story before
the first bite.

Our Yarramundi Prime Lamb begins in Australian lamb country. Discover the land, the animals and the care behind the lamb we bring to your table.

Discover the story
More than a cut of lamb

Before the kitchen,
there is a whole world of farming.

Our lamb is Yarramundi Prime Lamb, produced by Junee Prime Lamb in Australia’s Riverina. Fertile country, carefully selected livestock and daily animal care shape its quality from the beginning. From our cutlets to our slow-cooking cuts, we take pride in the lamb we bring to your table.

Chapter 01 / The land

A place called
Yarramundi.

Our lamb takes its name from Yarramundi, a 3,000-hectare farm alongside the Murrumbidgee River in Australia’s Riverina. Fertile agricultural land and a natural rural setting form the foundation of its farming story.

Our farming roots lie in the Riverina’s pastures and livestock country. Experienced people tend the land and care for the flock, with the needs of the animals guiding everyday decisions.

What this means for your meal

Our lamb has a known origin—a connection to the Riverina, the people who raise it and the care behind every cut.

Chapter 02 / The animal

Understand the animal.
Appreciate the lamb.

Sheep are grazing animals and ruminants. Their digestive system allows them to make use of fibrous plant material. The food available to them, their growth and the way they are managed are all part of the farming story.

Careful livestock selection and animal welfare are central to our lamb’s production. The quality we value begins with healthy, well-cared-for animals.

What this means for your meal

Eating quality begins long before a cut reaches the butcher. Genetics, nutrition and handling all deserve attention.

Genetics

Inherited traits help shape growth and meat characteristics. Breeding decisions can influence tenderness and intramuscular fat.

Nutrition

What an animal eats and how it grows help shape its development. Good nutrition matters particularly during finishing.

Handling

Calm, considered handling is part of looking after livestock. Animal care continues throughout the production journey.

Chapter 03 / The people

Good farming
is everyday work.

Behind every flock are people making practical decisions: observing animals, managing their environment and selecting livestock for the quality they aim to produce.

Animal welfare comes first in the raising of our lamb. Safe, low-stress environments, considered handling and careful livestock selection support the quality and consistency of our range.

The farm’s beauty is only one part of its story. The other is the attention given to the animals living there.

What this means for your meal

Our commitment to tender, flavoursome lamb begins with the land, the livestock and the care given throughout raising.

Chapter 04 / The eating experience

Flavour has
a farming story.

Tenderness, juiciness and flavour are influenced by more than appearance. Genetics, nutrition, handling and the preparation of the meat all play a role. Cooking the right cut in the right way completes that journey.

Marbling is the fat within the muscle. It contributes to the juiciness, flavour and tenderness we enjoy in lamb, alongside the character of the cut and the way it is cooked.

Learn more: marbling and external fat

Intramuscular fat sits within muscle and can contribute to juiciness, flavour and tenderness. External fat is a different deposit. A thick outer layer does not establish that a cut has high marbling.

What this means for your meal

Look at the whole story: producer, cut and preparation. Choose a cooking method that suits the cut, from quick grilling to a gentle slow cook.
